Forty-five golfers enjoyed a summers day out yesterday to finish off the 2108 golfing calendar. James O'Keeffe (75) survived a three hole play off against Darcy Hagan to win the men's event and Charlotte Briese (77) dominated the season easily winning the ladies competition. For the first time since its inception, Central West team of Gleeson, Masters, Vale and Clarke (pictured) blew the field apart with amazing golf to take out the bi-annual event in Tambo. Fifty-one golfers, making up 14 teams completed in the October event. Gleeson proved too convincing for the field carding a whopping 52 stableford points for his 18 holes of golf. Eighty-six competitors enjoyed the Springsure sunshine today to play the clubs annual open golf day. A big field makes a big day out, but spirits were high as players travelled from as far as Gladstone and Alpha to join all the represented clubs in Central Highlands for a memorable outing set beside the lovely landscape of the Virgin Rock.
