Well the golfing year is coming to a close. A huge thank you must go to the Clermont Golf Club for holding an excellent tournament last Saturday. The morale and sportsmanship was flowing for our last event on the Golf Central Highlands calendar and the course was in pristine condition thanks to their valuable team of workers and a little help from the rain gods. Congratulations to our Men's Central Highlands Team who travelled to Rockhampton last week to compete in the annual state Inter-Association team's event. This year our team consisted of Scott Hampton (Moranbah), Harry Wills (Emerald), Craig Dodd (Blackwater), James Russell (Blackwater) and non-playing captain Kevin O'Keeffe (Springsure). Congratulations to all Central Highlands players who travelled to Alpha last Saturday to challenge themselves to the sand and hot conditions. Ten teams of players battled it out on the day but accolades go to our awesome Middlemount contingency (Jamie Sullivan, Dean Sullivan, Maree Briese and Tony Smith) who took out the team event, winning the O'Keeffe "Astride the Divide" Shield and returning the trophy back to our district.
